Using a Utah online notary while you are abroad
Questions to settle before booking an online notarization from outside the United States.
Confirm acceptance first
Ask the receiving organization whether it accepts a document electronically notarized by a Utah notary and whether it needs a specific format, original paper document, witness, or other process. Requirements can differ by recipient and document. A remote session does not by itself guarantee acceptance.
Prepare for the time difference
The notary performs the session while physically in Utah. Tell us your location and time zone when requesting an appointment so you can choose a time that works on both sides. Make sure you can join a live video session with a stable connection.
Check your identification
The platform uses identity verification before and during the session. If you only have a non-U.S. ID, ask about eligibility ahead of time. Keep your ID available and use a device with a working camera and microphone.
Plan delivery
The finished document is delivered electronically. Confirm with the receiving party whether that file is sufficient and how they want to receive it. If an apostille, authentication, or paper original is needed, ask about that before booking because it is a separate step.
